How are you Shifting?

“When you stand and share your story in an empowering way, your story will heal you and your story will heal somebody else." Iyanla Vanzant

Happy Hump Day, my fellow Shifter!!!

I've been overwhelmed with requests to see the video of my talk at Malaprop's. I must admit, I still am feeling the waves of gratitude from that evening - it was amazing!!!

And thanks to the amazing Michael Trufant of Crunch Media, I can now share some of it with you!!!

The video below is me reading Liz Gilbert's amazing introduction to Eat Pray Love Made Me Do It, as well as my own essay.

There was a killer Q&A afterwards and I'll be posting videos from that soon...

What I've loved most about this whole experience is the permission it has given people to open up and share their stories of triumph and transformation.

So often, we lock up experiences we are ashamed of inside ourselves. We think we're protecting ourselves from guilt, shame or judgement by doing so.

But really, all we're doing is lodging the poison created from these events in our bodies - where they're wreaking havoc on our physical, mental, and emotional selves.

What I've learned time and time again, is that when I open up and share my story, it heals. It heals me, and it heals others. CLICK TO TWEET
Usually, the reaction is more positive than I ever imagined. But even if it's not, the experience teaches me lessons. In the case of someone having an issue with me being me, the lesson is that that person probably isn't going to remain a big part of my life anymore!

In perfect synchronicity, just as I was contemplating all these thoughts, one of my awesome readers put a name to the idea - Share Your Shift:
"A social campaign directed at how people are shifting their lives. Let them write and share their stories of how they are shifting - and what that means to them. The shifts they are having in their personal lives and/or the shifts they are participating in that are impacting our world. In a way, I guess, it's like how you made a shift when you read 'Eat Pray Love'".

What a fabulous idea!!!! I think I see a special page on the Shift Bars website just for these...

So please, Share Your Shift with me!! It can be something you've already done or a shift you are about to make. And if you want to remain anonymous, just tell me - I still got that whole "Attorney-Client privilege" thing down pat!

Whatever it is, share it. Believe me, it will break things wide open for you!

Feel free to share your story on our Facebook page or simply respond to this email. I'm so excited to read yours!!!

You rock,
Emily
